Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is cornerstone web technology which enables beautiful web pages across a range of devices. CSS was proposed by Håkon Wium Lie while he worked with Tim Berners-Lee at CERN in 1994. Håkon continued his work on CSS while working for the W3C (which makes specifications), Opera Software (which makes browsers) and YesLogic (which makes HTML-to-PDF-by-way-of-CSS formatters). In 2015, Håkon sailed from Lima to Easter Island on a balsa raft, making sure the world-wide-web is truly world-wide.
Håkon will talk about where the web came from, why CSS was invented, how we can create books with CSS, and how long the web will last.
