Abstract

A 2D game cannot exist without exciting levels. Worlds can be huge, so it is crucial to be able to create and edit levels in a simple and fast way. In Unity, it can be achieved by using Tilemap System. Using the tilemaps you can easily create games from genres like platformers, metroidvanias or RPGs. During the workshop, we will show you how to create your own levels in a fast and efficient way. Also, you will learn how to enhance your levels with random tiles, animated tiles and rule tiles, and how to create an environment around the levels. And obviously, you will end up having playable game!

Requirements Knowledge

Minimal knowledge of Unity will be an asset, but the workshop will be conducted in the way that even a person who has no idea how to do it will cope with tasks.

Requirements Technical

Own laptop + Unity installed. It would be good to have a mouse.

Before the workshop materials will be shared for participants.
