Applications of artificial intelligence to drug discovery are on the rise. Naturally, a key task in drug discovery is planning how to synthesize (make in the lab) a chemical molecule of interest. In this talk, I will describe some of the most interesting techniques that are commercially used to automatically plan how to synthesize potential drugs. On the whole, this talk aims to inspire to learn more about how AI can help drug discovery, and perhaps even to get involved.
